Jim Corbett National park in Uttarakhand:

Known for being a very famous Bengal tiger reserve, Jim Corbett National park is the oldest national park of India. Also, it is named after wildlife story writer Jim Corbett and was established in 1936.

Ranthambore National park in Rajasthan:

Another sanctuary known famous for Tigers, one may also find Leopard, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Sambar and Hyena in the most popular animals here.

Keoladeo Ghana National Park, Bharatpur in Rajasthan:

This is a man-made wetland sanctuary and is famous for its birds. You must know it by its former name Bharatpur Bird sanctuary. At peak seasons between December and January it hosts a lot of bird watchers and ornithologists.

Nagarhole National Park in Karnataka

The park houses animals like Indian Bison, Leopard, Sloth Bear and Elephant and is adorned with trees like Teak, Sandalwood and Silver Oak. It is also home to the famous Mugger Crocodile. It is also known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park.

Sariska National Park in Rajasthan:

This National Park is famous because it is the first national park to adapt as natural habitat by Indian Bengal tigers. Apart from Tigers it is known for Leopard, Jungle Cat, Stripped Hyena and Golden Jackal.

Kaziranga National Park in Assam

Kaziranga is the only natural habitat of the endangered Indian one-horned rhinoceros. Also, it is amongst a top 10 national parks of the country. You can also what many migratory birds in the park.

Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary in Karnataka

Bird photographer spot watches and ornithologists are in and out of Bhadra all the time throughout the year. Its major attractions includes birds like emerald dove, southern green imperial pigeon, great black woodpecker, malabar parakeet and hill myna.  It is also famous for snakes like King Cobra and Indian Rock Python.

Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh

This park is famous for Barasingha endangered species of swamp deer. Since the authorities of the park took an immense amount of efforts to save the deer.

Sundarbans in West Bengal:

This park has a characteristic feature of being a marshy land. It has the highest number of tigers in the world. It also houses the saltwater crocodile along with other animals like Gangetic Dolphin, River Terrapin, Hawks Bill Turtle and Mangrove Horseshoe Crab.

Periyar National Park in Kerala.

Pench National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

This Park is also known as Mowgli land. The famous novel of Rudyard Kipling, ‘The Jungle Book’ is inspired by this park. It is also known for barking deer.

Manas National Park in Assam.

It is amongst the youngest national parks in India. Further, Asian Elephant, Indian Rhinoceros, Water Buffaloes, Leopard and Assamese Macaques live in this park.

Panna National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

Again, this is also a tiger reserve. It was in news due to tiger coaching activities that are under control now.

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra.

It is the oldest and largest National Park of Maharashtra. Fire resistant species of tree known as axlewood can be found in large numbers here. It houses animals like leopard, tiger, cheetah etc.

The Great Himalayan National Park in Himachal Pradesh.

This higher altitude National Park is an attraction due to its location itself. The lush green sanctuary houses Snow Leopard, Himalayan Brown Bear, Blue Sheep, Musk Deer and Himalayan Thar.

Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, Goa.

Hemis National Park in Jammu and Kashmir.

Hemis National Park is located in Hemis attitude range between 3300 M to 6000 M above the sea level. Further, it houses a lot of Alpine flora and fauna.
