Dogs. A loyal friend comes to mind whenever and wherever we here this word. How would you feel or react if your friend was burned, skinned, dipped in boiling water alive for his/her meat? Terrible, I suppose. Well this is a reality in the Yulin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China. Yes, the burn dogs alive just to celebrate the summer solstice. It it totally brutal. I mean, on one hand there are activists and campaigns fighting against animal abuse and, on the other hand, people are brutally torturing,slaughtering and consuming dogs just to celebrate. This needs to stop, after all dogs have feelings too!

2. Yearly thousands of dogs are captured, snatched from their homes just so they can be burned and eaten for this festival. It is totally unfair.

4. These dogs are captured and put into cramped up spaces. Shortage of space leads to them being violent. I wonder how these people would feel if it were the other way round.

5. They are kept in such bad conditions, it’s like people who enjoy this ‘festival’ are blind to the suffering of these dogs.

6. Some dogs are lucky, they are saved by activists. Most are not. The dogs vendor just see this as an opportunity to make money off of these activists.

This madness needs to stop. Dogs are not meant for torture, they are certainly not meant to be burned alive for a festival. There has been a social uproar regarding this. Kindly support the campaign against this type of animal abuse. It is inhuman. Dogs are man’s best and loyal friend. You don’t do this to your best friend. Dogs are not meant to be burned alive for a festival, they need to be protected and nurtured. So, say no to dog meat.
