Mother Dairy came into being in 1974 as a subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). It was an initiative of the biggest dairy development programme in the world called, Operation Flood. Mother Dairy launched ice creams in 1995 and exhibited gradual expansion over the years.
