Since last few days, the famous singer Sonu Nigam has been fighting against all the hatred and trolls on Twitter. This fire sparked when the singer on Monday morning complained that he was woken up by the sound of early morning fajr azan from a local mosque on twitter. He mentioned in a series of tweets that according to him it was “forced religiousness” and “gundagardi”. And since then many has been praising him, trolling and even criticizing.
“I am a secular person and it was not about azan it was actually about the loudspeakers used. Playing loud sound on speakers is gundagardi for me,” Sonu Nigam said while trying to defend his tweets.
Sonu Nigam had also tweeted on gurudwaras and temples after a tweet specifically mentioning the 5 am azan and calling it “forced religiousness”. However, no one reflected on it.
Defending his tweets the famous singer expressed his views as a ‘social topic’ and not a ‘religious topic’.
Raising the issue of the right to speak freely, the artist said that he was simply communicating his feeling, however, didn’t intend to slight any religion. “Wouldn’t we be able to demonstrate somewhat more resilience?” he asked amid the press conference.
Prior, amid the day, Sonu Nigam reacted independently to a bundle of individuals on Twitter, attempting to legitimize his past tweets. Most likely after fizzled endeavors at attempting to close the trolls, Nigam issued a press conference.
A fatwa was likewise issued against him. Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, VP of the West Bengal Minority United Council offered a reward of 10 lakh rupees to any individual who will shave Nigam’s head, put a festoon of old torn shoes around his neck and parade him around the nation.
Well, for everyone’s surprise, Nigam had a significant well-suited reaction to the pastor who issued the fatwa. He tweeted, “Today at 2 pm Aalim will come to my place, and shave my head. Keep your 10 lakhs prepared Maulavi.”
What’s more, staying faithful to his obligation, Nigam shaved his head and requested that the pastor pays him 10 lakh rupees. LOL, it is becoming funny, isn’t it?
Well! The priest who issued a fatwa against Sonu Nigam said that he won’t pay Sonu the amount of 10 lakh rupees till he satisfies the staying two conditions, which are to wear two-laurels of old torn shoes and afterward visit around the nation. Valid Point By Maulvi!
“Sonu Nigam has not done every one of the things I requested, two out of the three things stay unfulfilled,” said Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, the priest who issued the fatwa.
Refuting the claims that he made those remarks to come in the limelight, Quaderi, the vice president, West Bengal Minority United Council, said, “Sonu Nigam could have spoken against azan as a publicity stunt but I would never use him (Sonu) for my publicity.”
Following the 43-year-old-singer’s controversial tweets against ‘azan’, the Kolkata-based cleric issued a fatwa against the Kal Ho Naa Ho singer on Tuesday, responding to which he got his head shaved on Wednesday.
I don’t know about the whether it was a publicity stunt by Sonu Nigam or he actually raised a social issue, but I am very damn sure that he really, really need Centuary Mattresses to have an uninterrupted sleep every night, India Ka Sleep Specialist you know? Won’t let you wake up by!
