What Is Fish Oil?

Fish oil is a type of fat extracted from fatty fish such as mackerel, cod, herring, and tuna. Cod liver oil is derived from the liver of codfish and is classified as a type of fish oil.   Omega-3 fats, which account for around 30% of fish oil, are one of the most beneficial components.   The principal omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil are EPA and DHA. Both have been linked to lowering inflammation and increasing cognition, behavior, and mood, which backs up the link between fish oil and autism improvement.
