The psychoactive ingredient mitragynine may cause dependence. This can result in sweating, tremors, nausea, hallucinations, and inability to sleep. In addition, the production of Mitragyna Speciosa is not regulated by the FDA. Additionally, there are no established standards for safe production. Despite reports of positive effects, more research is needed to establish the safety of Mitragyna Speciosa for long-term use.
