Sabarmati Ashram

It was one of the epicentres of the independence movement. Established on the reservoir of the Sabarmati River, it was initially called the Satyagraha Ashram. It was the floor for Mahatma Gandhi to motivate activists to assemble his non-violent, Swadeshi movements and civil disobedience for freedom. Gandhi Ji stayed there for 12 years.
