Its and it's

Image source: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l84mxeYkcC1qbolbn.jpg The most common error people make is the usage of "its" instead of "it's" and vice versa. "Its" is a possessive pronoun. "It's" is a contraction of "it is" or "it has". For example: a. It's been a long day. In this sentence, "it's" means "it has". b. Every dog has its day. In this sentence, "its" is used to indicate possessive form of the noun, dog.    2. Your and you're Image source: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRk2KlVej8o1PQeyf3wZ4j3QZBwo8OVhDzWY7h4L2OKiZ39OE4eHA This is the most annoying grammatical mistake ever. "You're" is a contraction of "you are".  The word "your" indicates ownership or that something belongs to you. For example: a. You're wrong. This sentence implies that 'you are" wrong (literally, if you use "your" instead of "you're"). b. This is your mistake. This sentence implies that the mistake belongs to "you" (of course, if you're confused between "you're" and "your" then definitely, the mistake belongs to you and only you).
