Improved Breathing
Asthma flare-ups can be caused by postnasal drip, which causes mucus to accumulate in the chest. Postnasal drip also causes mucous to drip into the breathing passages, which causes wheezing and coughing throughout the night and interrupting sleep. Sleep apnea occurs when the muscles in the throat and tongue relax during deep sleep, obstructing the airway. People who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea stop breathing for short periods while they sleep and feel exhausted when they wake up. Elevating the head with an adjustable bed reduces postnasal drip and opens up the airways so you can get a good night’s sleep. Adjustable beds are more easily accessible by pregnant women, post-partum mothers, those who have mobility issues due to a disability, aging, or an accident, and people who are recovering from surgery.
