Herbie Hancock – “Secrets” (1976)
Herbert Jeffery “Herbie” Hancock’s composition on “secrets” is a masterful work of genius. The Jazz Fusion - Jazz funk record will bring a touch of the funk and the energy to your good morning. The song is fit for an energy fit and will make sure you at least bob your head or tap your feet to this rhythm. Duke Ellington – “Blues Orbit” (1960) While it is arguable that every song that THE Duke Ellington ever touched was golden and seemingly untouchable; this album is his best in his post – New Orleans music. The Mid tempo builds on the Drums and a playful tune from the piano would make your morning magical. Nina Simone – “I Put A Spell On You” (1965) The North Carolinian miracle of a voice has to make it to the list. The arid Civil Rights activist will put a spell on you as she claims in the album. The drums, the keys, the trumpets and the Bass with the iconic Nina Simone Vocals will have you feeling good in the morning and will last you till the next. This piece of art is undoubtedly one of the best – performed records of all time. Chet Baker – “Chet” (1959) “Chet” is the sound of an easy going day. The record’s tempo rises and falls throughout, but the rhythm goes on. Chet Baker on trumpet taking the lead will change your perception of a lazy day. A cup of Coffee and Chet Baker on Trumpet is sure to brighten your day. If you’re a Jazz person (and might not know it yet that you’re a jazz person), this list might work wonders for you!
