Until 1979, it was a part of Osmania Medical College & Osmania General Hospital, Afzalgunj. GDC&H is the only Govt. dental college in the entire state of Telangana with Post Graduate courses which were introduced in 1980-81. It is a well equipped and well-reputed college with Hospital. Patient inflow is from 800 to 1200 per day. The college has a mission that is to improve the oral health of the population by educating them about cleanliness.
