Elizabeth Blackwell
Dr Blackwell's life is also a huge source of motivation. She was the first women to a medical degree from an American medical school. It was a big struggle. She joined an all men's medical school. Financing it, too, was a struggle. She started the New York Infirmary for Women and Children with Dr Marie Zakrzewska. Her sister Emily joined in. She also started a women's medical college.
