The new variant is named B.1.617, and it has two mutations such as E48Q and L425R. So, this is called the double mutant variant, which is transmitting significantly faster than previous strains. The UK has banned travel from India owing to the spread of covid-19. Even scientists have not clarified how dangerous it is.
