Cannabidiol

Cannabis oil, or CBD, is a powerful medicine that is being used to treat a variety of diseases.  It is edible in small amounts, and can also be applied topically.  This powerful compound has recently been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (F.D.A.) for use as a treatment for some rare seizure disorders in people ages two and older. It was shown to reduce seizures in three randomized placebo-controlled trials.  This kind of trial is considered the gold standard in the medical field. In a placebo-controlled study, participants are randomly assigned to one of two groups: one group receives the drug, the other doesn't. The researchers aren't even aware of which group is taking the medication.
