While the North Pole has Aurora borealis, the South Pole has its aurora Australis. If you want to see Aurora Australis then the most amazing place is the wild and untamed continent of Antarctica. As crazy as it sounds to take a trip to Antarctica but this is truly a once in a lifetime experience. That is now possible thanks to modern transports. The phenomenon often appears as floating green or red curtains of light. Although there is no fixed Aurora cycle, they are dependent upon solar wind activity and most common at the peak of sunspot cycles.
