America attained independence on July 4, 1776
We all know that the Declaration of Independence was signed by the founding fathers of America on July 4, 1776. However, it still didn't become independent! The war went on for seven more years. Independence was granted from Britain on September 3,1783 when Definitive Treaty of Peace was signed.
