Be mindful of your availability
It is very easy to lose any semblance of work-life balance since you will be focused on always working or being available for work. Try to keep in mind that the work really never ends. It isn’t as if working hard and putting in a lot of hours means that tomorrow there will be less to do. The reality is that when you are running a business that is yours, there could be something to do 24 hours per day. Understanding this means that you can take time during the day for your family or your own needs and still manage to run the business. Make sure that you are home for dinner even if it means getting on the phone for a few hours after the kids go to bed or you have some quality time with your partner. Set aside this time and be strict with it so people understand that you are only available during certain hours of the day.
