Cuisine-centric restaurants nowadays are all about the traditional and quirky themes with food prepared in spices that leave you redolent and takes you back to childhood memories. They not only focus on preparing scrumptious cuisine but also on the ambience to make you feel at home. Today we will be discussing the top five restaurants of Hyderabad who have touched people’s heart with their cuisines and ambience and have also been a delinquent escape for a foodie Teluguite. Even people from different cultures get an opportunity to taste the flavours of Andra Pradesh and Telangana.
- Rayalseema Ruchulu
Does spicy food excite you? If yes, then Rayalseema Ruchulu is certainly a place to tick off from your must-visit places in Hyderabad. With 6 outlets throughout Hyderabad, this place is all about authentic Andra cuisine with a spicy twist. From extravagant Ralayseema thalis to mouth-watering desserts, this restaurant will leave you with an everlasting taste.
People talk about Ulavacharu for Rajugari Kodi Pulao, Ulavacharu, Bamboo Chicken, Fish, Ulvacharu Biryani, Kotha Kodi and Kulfi. The name itself is authentic and states for a brown soup made from horse gram. The servings start with a sweet dish. You can happily munch on it while your order is prepared. I have experienced the Gongura Biryani here and it was incredible. The apricot dessert was rich in texture and appetizing at the same time. Overall, I loved the ambience and food of this place.
Think of Ragi Sangiti, Naatukodi Pulusu, Pot Biryani, Paneer Biryani, Mutton Biryani, Mutton Keema Balls and Bamboo Chicken and Kritunga is certainly on the list of your favourite getaway. The place offers Andra, Biryani and North Indian Cuisines and is a popular name among the masses. So next time you look forward to making luncheon plans, this is a perfect place to satisfy your hunger.
- Kodi Kuda Chitti Gare
When cravings speak of Biryani, Thali, Ragi Sangiti, Fish, Chicken Curry, Chicken Pulao, and Rabri, this place is sure to satiate your cravings in the most delightful manner possible. From warm hospitality to good cuisine, it is all about money well spent. I tried Garlic naan with Thotakura mutton gravy and was perfectly balanced and rich in flavours. Kodi Vepudu was also mouth-watering good. What made it unique was a seasoning of fried onions and cilantro.

This restaurant takes its name quite seriously when it comes to serving the cuisine. The authentic Andra food mixed in spices gives that perfect homely feel one normally misses. As soon as you enter the restaurant you are served a welcome drink (Nannari Sherbet) which almost gives you a refreshing kick. The ambience leaves you redolent as it reminds you of the old Andra house. The food is equally tempting too. I ordered Kheema Sankati with Natu Kodi Pulusu and it was a delight. Karalu Miriyal Kodivepudu, Kaju Kodi Vepudu, and Phirni were also really tasty.
The names I mentioned here are my favourite picks from the lot. There are other happening and exciting places to visit too to unravel Andra delicacies in Hyderabad. One really have to visit these places in order to experience the flavours of Andra Pradesh and Telangana.
