Card games are a great way to pass the time. They are both challenging and fun to play, and they simply never get old. I enjoy playing a variety of card games, like solitaire, blackjack, rummy, and poker. Recently, I was introduced to spades, and I must admit that I’ve become quite addicted to it! So, I decided to do a bit of digging and find the best online spade games I could play on my phone. During my search, I came across a site called AppGrooves that had a list of the best 10 spade games. I found the list to be pretty useful, so I’ll drop the link below.
Top Spade Cards Games
After testing out quite a few spade games, I rounded up my top 3 favorites. Here are my thoughts on each one.
Aces Spades – Rating: 4.4, Downloads: 1M+
One of my favorite spades games is Aces Spades. I find it to be a great choice for both beginners and advanced players, as you can choose from 5 different difficulty levels. I also like the fact that you can alternate between different game modes including the Standard, Mirror, Suicide, and Whiz versions. You also have the option to play against computer opponents or against real players around the world. I particularly prefer the later as you can view your progress on a worldwide leaderboard.
While I liked that Aces Spades can be played by both beginners and advanced players, I didn’t find a tutorial option for new players. While you can quickly read the rules of the games, it would be nice if they walked you through it step by step. However, it is certainly not a deal breaker, as the game is truly well made.
Pros: 5 difficulty levels, multiple game modes, play online, worldwide leaderboard.
Cons: No tutorial option.
Overall: Play a spade game that fits your skill level by choosing from multiple difficulty modes, although you won’t find a tutorial option for new players.
Spades Royale – Rating: 4.8, Downloads: 500K+
Another game I really liked is Spades Royale. What I like about it is that not only can you play spades against other players, but you can also invite your friends to play with you as a team. I also like how you get to create your own avatar, and how you can level up your character the more you play the game. And, unlike my first pick, Spades Royale does have a tutorial mode, which is a big plus if you are new to spades. Another neat feature I liked is that you can react to plays by making noises to let other players know how you feel about your hand.
The only drawback I found is that there is no option for turning off in-game sound effects made by other players. While the ‘making noise’ feature can be a lot of fun, it is probably not the most convenient if you are looking for a quiet game. However, a way to get around it is to lower your cell phone media volume if you don’t want any sound effects!
Pros: Play solo or as a team, create an avatar, level-up character, tutorial mode, make noise feature.
Cons: No option for turning off player-activated sound effects.
Overall: Level-up your character as you play spades on your own or as a team, although there is no option for turning off in-game noises made by other players.
Spades Plus – Rating: 4.6, Downloads: 5M+
And, last but not least, my third pick is Spades Plus. I like that there are many different games modes to choose from, including the Whiz, Solo, VIP, and Mirror modes in addition to the Classic mode. I also like how you can create your own personalized games with your preferred rule type, bet amount, and final point. One of the features I liked the most is the online live events and tournaments, where you can play against up to 15 other players. I found the tournaments to be pretty exciting, especially because you can earn some pretty awesome in-game prizes!
With so many different game modes and customization options, Spades Plus may be more than you are looking for, especially if you are new to the game. However, you can stick to the Classic game mode if you want and try out any of the other game modes when you feel like trying something new!
Pros: Multiple game modes, create your own spades game, live events, and tournaments, in-game prizes.
Cons: Many options can feel overwhelming.
Overall: Play your preferred version of spades or create your own personalized game, although with so many game modes it can feel a bit overwhelming.
Conclusion
So, those are my top 3 favorite spades games. If you are a beginner, I recommend you try Spades Royale or Aces Spades. And, if you are eager to test your spades skills with different game modes, then you can’t go wrong with Spades Plus. Have fun playing spades!
