Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer-Piku has been highly applauded, collecting over Rs 25 crore in just three days. The plot moved around one phase of life of an elderly man and his daughter. The actors were brilliant, the screenplay was vividly colourful and charmingly Bengali,  the script was amusing and it was about a constipated old man!. It  actually teaches you a thing or two about life and your digestive system.

1. Women can be completely Independent.

Piku is an ambitious architect who also takes care of her father and the house. Not only does she run a successful business but she also handles all the domestic matters. Especially her cantankerous old father: Bhashkor. Time and again it has been proved that daughters can and have taken care of their parents as well as men. sometimes even better. Nothing against men, but what’s this whole daughters can’t do it business. If a woman cannot build her own identity and is only going to be confined within the roles she plays at home, it’s not going to work for her. This movie exactly shows why women are termed as multi-taskers .

2.Parents can be Egocentric

The ones who teach us to be generous and loving to the world, when the time comes they might get selfish and egocentric. And that isn’t a crime either. No matter how good your parents are, you can love and honour them without actually capitulating to their will. A lot of people who find it difficult to do that and it’s not easy. It’s okay to be selfish about your own children! At the end of the day we are all humans.

Deepika Padukone (angrily) : Semi Liquid Motion First, Than Two Days Of Gas & Constipation, What Should I Do? Yeh Koi Message Hota Hai Dene Ke Liye Office Main.

Amitabh Bachchan: Haan?”

3. Casual Sex/Pre- Marital Sex is each one’s choice.

It isn’t a crime. It isn’t unacceptable. It isn’t rebellious. It is a choice. Piku brings this out very naturally and there are no discussions about this except when her father is scheming  to put a dampener on her love life. Like when introduces his daughter to prospective guys saying, “She is not a virgin. She has a casual sex arrangement.” Okay, now that’s embarrassing.People seriously need to get over this one! It’s cool and definitely not a crime. Stop judging.

4.Motion and emotion are connected

Believe it or not constipation is a serious problem and the emotions you feel after a good motion are irreplaceable. This poop-centric film does not make you feel sick instead it helps you see that everything is connected to emotion. If you are actually happy and positive your body tends to work better and keep you more healthy. So there you go, motion se hi emotion …!!

Deepika Padukone: Aise walk karne se kuch nahi hoga, jaa ke bethiye bathroom mein ho jaye gi.

Amitabh Bachchan :I know my system better or you? ”

‘Piku’ is lot of fun, with its dialogues and situational humour surrounding the nauseous description of constipated motion. The movie goes on to say that everything in your life revolves around motion. Even how you behave and live depends upon your physical condition. The actor justifies his constant cribbing and negativity with the fact that he is going through a very difficult and embarrassing physical condition.

5.Never give up on your parents

Amitabh Bachchan’s character is constantly cranky and constipated. Our parents are going to get old and cranky and highly irritable at times. But they are always going to be our parents who brought us up and tolerated us through our teens and adolescence . We shouldn’t give up on anything in life. More than anything else our parents.

Deepika Padukone: Agar kisi ko mere sath shaadi karni hai toh…

Irrfan Khan: … tumhare nabbe saal ke bacche ko saath mein adopt karna padega.

Deepika Padukone (giggles) : Bilkul. Karoge?

Irrfan Khan: Matha kharab nai hai mera.”

6.Parents always know

We have to trust their judgement . Because somehow parents always know. They just do. Piku too in the end proves it how Bhaskor Banerjee (Amitabh) knew Syed suffers from constipation. So just trust them.
