Colors are, by far the most overlooked and under-appreciated creation in this world.
We associated so much of our lives with color each day. We Stop at Red, go at green…

Every Valentine’s Day we look forward for that red rose from that one special person.
Every Diwali the town is filled with bright yellow diyas and lights….

The timeless song plays on in our minds–“And it was all yellow!”

Every Christmas green and red are everywhere
Every Holi, colors are in huge demand!

Moreover,
Every morning we match the right tie to our shirts and the right scarfs to our blouse before we step out.

We never think twice on colors.

But this beautiful element in our lives was pondered upon by several authors and poets which today show us that colors hold a much greater meaning. ..

Here are 5 Quotes on colors to inspire and paint our daily lives as well as give us lessons for the times when the colors seem to fade away!

“The best Color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you”
-COCO CHANEL, attributed, Glamour, vol. 103

From the first hair on our heads till the tips of our toes, each of us is a unique individual. Distinct and diverse in every single aspect of our body, thought and life.

Each one of us make different choices… each one, mixes differently with every person.
But what’s most peculiar is that none of us are exactly the same.
Myths say every person has a look alike, one on each of the seven continents.
A.K.A “Doppelgangers”, as referred to in famous TV shows.
But even Doppelgangers are just look a-likes; One can be an Architect in New-York where as the Doppelganger can be a Mexican Wrestler. (Kudos if you got the HIMYM reference!)
However, it’s just a myth!

We’re Different individually. We’re also different together. But our personalities are what makes us who we are. Let’s stay original, Not a copy. It takes courage to be who we truly are and not mix into the monotonous Colors of the world… Let’s paint…paint this world with our Color. Not with borrowed ones…for borrowed Colors are mere copies, which fade away very soon…

“Clouds come floating into my life,
no longer to carry rain or usher storm,
but to add colour to my sunset sky”
– Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds

Life as we know it…is a roller-coater.
There will be ups and there will be downs.
But every cloud and every dark day in our lives adds up to some greater purpose. We’ve all heard the quote- “stormy seas make skilled sailors!”
That’s what happens in real life too…the dark clouds pour out and the sky becomes a clear blue again!

Hang in there Buddy!!
Sometimes the perfect amount of black can enhance the painting of your life if you choose to let it!

“So dawn goes down today… Nothing gold can stay”
-Robert Frost

Nothing in our lives is permanent.

Not the good.

Not the bad.

Not the troubles

Not our circumstances.

Life is a beautiful struggle where change is the only constant.

So, live.

Live each day no matter how the situation is…

Look out for the silver linings, be thankful for the blessings… and don’t worry about the pains, they too as unwanted colours will someday wash away.

“Mere colour, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form,

Can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways”

-Oscar Wilde

What Oscar Wilde tell us is how each colour has a different meaning.
When someone says love… we see red.
Jealousy is referred to as the little green monster.
Darkness is black
Peace is white
Yellow is friendship
in the exact same way, you are you.
Don’t let anything or anyone in the world get you down! Some people and some circumstances are … plain grey.

Break free from it… color them with love, with friendship, and with your optimistic attitude.

Always remember: there are times… when you have to learn to color outside the lines!!

Never forget:“Have some fire, be unstoppable be a force of nature be better than anyone here and don’t give damn what anyone thinks you’re on your own be on your own.”–Shonda Rhimes

“Life is about using the whole box of crayons”

-RUPAUL, attributed, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Teacher Tales

We regret nothing more than the chances we didn’t take, the words we didn’t say, the deeds we didn’t do.
Life is as Rupaul puts it… a box of crayons …and the best thing about crayons is…Even broken crayons Color ! Color this life of yours.
If you get a chance take it, if there’s a risk risk it…  maybe you’ll win, maybe you’ll loose. But you’ll learn and above all… you’ll never regret.

Be young and free!
Spread your colour and spread the love on to others as well! Because after all, you only live once… and tomorrow? Tomorrow is not for regrets.

Carpe Diem, My friend!
