Monsoon surely relieves us from the reckless heat of summer, but then, it does not take time for that pleasant drizzle outside your window to turn into a seemingly endless downpour of water. Take the recent Mumbai rains for example. Entire city was clogged and it became almost impossible to go out. Whenever something like this happens, you are left with no option but to stay inside your home and wonder when the rain will stop. And then begins the tick-tock of boredom and soon, the feeling of dullness takes over you.
But don’t worry about it anymore. Next time you get stuck in a situation like this, I have certain things that you can do to make your day much more “happening”. You may even find yourself wishing for a rainy day so that you get to do one of the following things all day.

Here are 11 such things that you can do when you are stuck at home on a rainy day.

1. SLEEP, and sleep your ass off!

When was the last time you had a daytime nap?
Rain provides you with a perfect excuse along with a lethargic climate to sleep your boredom away.
So go ahead, lie down on the cozy comfort of your bed and dive into your dreamland, with no alarm clock, nothing to disturb you. Sleep like a baby!

If you ask me, I would suggest you to watch FRIENDS.
What’s your choice?

3. A VIDEO-GAME MARATHON!

Anyone into gaming probably doesn’t need a rainy day excuse to play, but when you have an entire day in front of you, why not do what you do best. Grab your console and start away, no one’s going to stop you!

Just a thought: Try playing the vintage Super Mario, Contra, Tank, etc kinda games. Trust me, it is still fun!

4. COOKING!

In this godforsaken weather, no one is going to deliver you any food. So walk in the kitchen, utilize whatever ingridients you have at home and cook something interesting, anything!

5. START A NEW BOOK!

There is no such thing as getting bored when you have a stack of good reads lying around. Pick up one such book, and just get lost in it. You will have no idea of the passing time.

6. CATCH UP WITH YOUR FAMILY.

Make some nice tea, a perfect drink for a perfect weather, and sit with your parents and siblings and spend your time talking, catching up with them, telling them your work stories, listening to theirs. Basically, just gossiping!
You will realise that talking to your family feels much better than the constant chatting that you otherwise do the entire day.

8. ENJOY A HOBBY.

Listen to your favorite music, or take out your paintbrush, or your camera, whatever your hobby is, enjoy it. You have plenty of time. And if you don’t have any hobby yet, it is never too late to learn. Start off with what you always wanted to do.
Example, pick up a guitar and start learning. Trust me, it’s worth it.

11. GO OUT, GET WET, DANCE IN RAIN.

If you are just not the person who can spend his/her day stuck indoors, then go out and embrace the weather with open arms. Feel the tiny droplets of water descending from the sky and settling on your skin. Getting all drenched from top to bottom, going on a ride, stopping at roadside shop for hot tea and delicious snacks, making paper boats just to remind yourself of your childhood, all these things can make your day an absolutely memorable one! That is, perhaps the best way to enjoy a rainy day.
