Do you ever find yourself in a situation
where you want something badass to reply but nothing of that sort comes in your mind? If you were to die right now and I ask you for your last words, will you make them interesting?
Well, these people did. Whatever the situation was, when it came, they had the right words in their arsenal.
Check out the manliest lines ever uttered in real life!
11. THE SKILLED SWISS RIFLEMEN!
At the time of First World War, Kaiser Williams II, in 1912, asked what a militia of quarter million Swiss would do if he invaded with an army of half million Germans.
The Swiss replied,
“Shoot twice and go home!”
10. Tweet war.
Rapper Drake, in a Drake moment of self reflection, tweeted that “The first million is the hardest.”
To this, T Boone Pickens, the Texan oil billionaire, replied with a mic-drop retweet
“The first billion is a helluva lot harder.”
9. Spoken like a true king!
Augustus was the first and among the most important Roman emperors. He ended a century of civil wars and gave Rome an era of peace, prosperity and imperial greatness.
The emperor’s famous last words to his friends were,
“Have I played my part well? Then applaud as I exit.”
8. Teddy Roosevelt, the original Badass!
Theodore Roosevelt gave a speech immediately after a failed assasination attempt by John Flammang Schrank, who shot the former President point blank with a .32 caliber revolver. The speech was over 90 minutes long and the bullet was still inside him as he delivered it.
An excerpt from his speech,
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I don’t know whether you fully understand that I have been shot, but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose.”
7. Oscar Wilde, the philosopher.
“Alas, I’m dying beyond my means”, as he sipped champagne on his deathbed.
6. The Dictator.
Josip Broz Tito, Yugoslavian communist revolutionary was a frequent target of assasins sent by Joseph Stalin, Soviet dictator and mass murderer. In a personal message sent by Tito to Stalin, he said
“Stalin, stop sending people to kill me! We’ve already captured 5 of them, one with a bomb and another with a rifle…
If you don’t stop sending killers, I’ll send one to Moscow,
AND I WONT HAVE TO SEND ANOTHER.”
P.S. Tito outlived Stalin by twenty-eight years.
5. The baked Appel.
George Appel, a convicted murderer from New York, was to die in the electric chair, in 1928. When asked for his last words,
Appel replied,
“Well, gentlemen, you are about to see a baked Appel.”
Punny, right?
4. Tonight, we dine in hell!
Edward H Rulloff, a noted philologist and criminal, was the last person to be hanged in public in New York. Just before his exit,
he said,
“Hurry it up! I want to be in hell in time for dinner.”
3. Muhammad Ali.
The 1974’s “Rumble in the Jungle” was one of the most iconic fights ever. Muhammed Ali, the challenger after taking everything George Foreman would offer for seven rounds, whispered to him,
“That all you got, George. I thought you were supposed to be bad.”
Ali won the fight to become the second person to ever regain the World Hevyweight Championship.
2. Gentleman!
Benjamin Guggenheim, one of the wealthiest passengers aboard the Titanic,
returned to his room as the ship started sinking, changed into his evening clothes, and declared…
“We’ve dressed up in our best and are prepared to go down like gentlemen.”
1. Cheers, to all these men.
“If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in order to celebrate; and if nothing happens, you drink to make something happen.” -Charles Bukowski.
